H&M nail polish in Temptress - Review

This is going to be a review on an inexpensive nail polish by H&M.
Since two or three weeks, I've been trying to stop bitting my nails. I've putted the Mavala Stop (it tastes really bad) and it helped a lot. But, now I have the habbit to scrape of the top coat with my new nails! So that's why I wanted an nail polish so I wouldn't want to scrape it off because chipped nail polish doesn't look good.
So, this nail polish cost about 5$CAN (prices are higher in Canada :(.) It's a nice lilac purple pastel color. I wanted something really cheap because I wasn't sure I was going to continue wearing nail polish and almost never wore any nail polish before because I didn't have long enough nails. But, even if it's cheap, I really like it. I like that the color is nice and opaque. An other positive point is that it lasts a decent time for the price. I've putted it with a top coat and added a top coat everyday and it lasted me 4 days. (It's a miracle because I still have a tendency to scrape it off). Even after four days, it's still there. It's just that I'm perfectionist!
So I really recommend this inexpensive nail polish for anyone either you don't to pay a lot of money for nail polish or if you like to have many different colors.

Kat Von D Autograph pencil in black metal love - Review

This is a review on an eyeliner by Kat Von D that I got in the get the look kit that they sell at Sephora. I also included a swatch.
I got this eyeliner in the kit and it came in the color Black Metal Love. It's a black with some micro glitters in it. I really like the color and I'm happy that it's not just a regular black because I have so many in my collection.
I really like how this eyeliner glides on. It's super smooth and extremely pigmented. I really like to use it on my upper lashline and it's a nice alternative to the plain black liner.
I personally didn't try it on my waterline because I've heard that the glitters can irritate your eyes. Has anyone tried it? How did it work for you?
I'm not someone who usually wears pencil eyeliner on my upper lashline but since I got this liner, that's how I wore it and I really like it.
Another nice thing to have is that it has a nice pencil shapener in the cap of the pencil so it's really portable and you don't have to bring one if you leave on a trip.
Would I buy it again? I have to honestly say no for this color but I would probably try just the black pencil so I could use it on my waterline. It's just that I find that when you pay so much for an eyeliner, I want it to be very versatile and multipurpose.

Revlon Illuminance cream shadow in skinlights - Review

This is a review on a quad of creme shadow by Revlon. I also included swatches but the colors are a little bit washed out by my camera.
Pros:
- I really like the colors in this quad.
- These are so creamy!
- Really nice packaging
- They stay on your lid for a full day of school or work.
Cons:
- If you're going to wear it for more than 9-10h, your going to get a little bit of creasing.
- I don't know if it's just mine but it's really hard to open. This can be a pro because you know it wont open in your make up kit but I have a hard time opening it.
I really like these cream eyeshadow and will probably try to get more colors because I find they have a really good variety of colors. Also, it's an excellent value for the price.

Revlon Grow Luscious mascara - Review

This is going to be a review on Revlon's Grow Luscious mascara.
Last week, I was on a trip and on the first morning, when I arrived at the time to put mascara, I realized I forgot to pack it! So first thing I did when I passed in front of a Drugstore was buying a mascara because mascara is the one make up item I need!
So I decide to try a new mascara because I love trying different brands of mascara. This time, I choose to try Revlon's Grow Luscious mascara.
The wand is very big, and it gives a lot of volume. You could compare the wand to Benefit Bad Gal or Too Faced Lash Injection mascara. But, I prefer the formula of the Revlon one because I fell that with the two others, I have difficulty to get some products on my lashes.
I like how it makes my lashes look. This is a volumizing mascara. It does it's purpose because it gives a lot of volume but I can't say it gives a lot of lenght. But I don't really care because I already have long lashes.
I really recommend this mascara because of how it looks and I will probaly put another update in a month or so to tell you if it really makes my eyelashes grow.

Kat Von D True Romance palette in True Love - Review

This is a review on another product I got in my Kat Von D get the look kit. This is the True Romance palette in True Love. It's a very nice combination of gold, brown and purples.
First, I really like the colors. These are like the perfect colors for me. I think these would be the colors I would choose if I decided to design a make up palette. So I was really happy with that. Some colors are just gorgeous like there's a purple that looks only purple in the pan but when I swatched it, surprise, there was some blue glitters in it. so something I love is the diversity this palette offers.
The eyeshadows are really pigmented. I only need a tiny bit and I like that I don't get as much fallouts as with Too faced shadows. I originally planned on buying UD Naked palette but they didn't have it in stock and that was my second choice but I'm not sad because I really like it.
So I really recommend buying this palette because it's a great value and I really like it.

Kat Von D lipstick in Celebutard - Review

So as I sayed in my other reviews, I went to Toronto for a trip last week and I went shopping!!! This is going to be a review on a Lipstick by Kat Von D that I received in the Get the look kit.
This was part of the Kat Von D kit that Sephora sells. I was really happy that I was able to get it because it was the last one on the shelf!
I really like this color okay I know I'm terrible at describing colors especially in my second language but it's a very nice light pink. When I arrived home, I checked out my collection and I remarked that I found a pretty close dupe for it! So this is a very similar color to Mac lipstick in hue. They look practically the same in the packaging. The only difference they have is that Hue is a glaze and Celebutard is more of a matte lipstick. But, paired with a gloss on your lips, it's very similar.
So, as you can see in the third picture I uploaded, on the left side, I have Celebutard and on the right side I have Hue. As you can see, the only difference is the finish. (PS. Sorry for my chapped lips)
For me, I prefer the Kat Von D lipstick but I know it can be a little bit pricey so you can get the Mac one and it will be a little less expensive.

H&M Lipgloss - Review

Okay so this is probably the cheapest make up item I ever bought. This is going to be a review on a lipgloss by H&M that I bought while I was on a trip last week.
First, this lipgloss retails at I believe close to 3$. (Sorry, I don't remember and I trew away the bad that had the price on it). I was pretty sure it was going to be really cheap but I liked the colors it had so I tought: ''What do I have to loose?'' And I bought it.
I was really curious about it and I immidiately swatched it on the back of my hand while I was in the bus. The pretty red color turned out to be more of a sheer red but I was really surprised because the lighter color was a lot more pigmented than I expected. So I really like the color overall. The only thing is that it's a very super super sticky lipgloss (probably the most sticky lipgloss I've ever tried) and it really dries my lips.
I will probably not buy it again but I like the color and if your someone who doesn't wear a lot of make up or doesn't want to pay a lot of money for a lipgloss, that would be a decent option for you.

Sephora collection lipgloss in Apricot - Review

This is going to be a review on a Sephora Collection Lipgloss that I bought this week while I was on a trip. I had all my purchases planned before leaving but I didn't plan on buying it. I bought it because I saw it in the little baskets with sale items beside the cash.
I mainly bought it because of it's color. I really like this color and it was something that I didn't own anything close to it.
I really like how this lipgloss feels on my lips. I like that's it's not too sticky although it is stickier than most of these kind of lipgloss. What I really like about it is the smell. It really smells like candies.
The only thing that would make it even greater is if the color was a little bit more pigmented. I wish it would show up that color on my lips. Unfortunately it seems to me that it's pretty close to a clear, pale pink lipgloss with lots of shimmers.
Overall, I don't regret buying this lipgloss because I really like it for almost clear natural gloss. And also, it's a really good value for the price at only 7$.

Gosh effect powder - Review

This is a review about some loose eyeshadow I bought a little while ago. It's Gosh's effect powder. I got three colors: Meringue, Bluebell and Kiss in order in the pictures.
I really like these loose eyeshadow. It's a lot of shimmers! There's never enough shimmers on my eyes! So, I like how they stay on when over a primer. I like the colors although I only have light shimmery shades. I don't really know how pigmented the darker shades are.
But, I must say honestly that I haven't used them too much since I bought these. It's just that I don't like how loose eyeshadows are messy and powder just flies everywhere. So, if you're a loose eyeshadow lover, I recommend you to try these because they are good quality and are not too expensive.

Artdeco eyeshadows - Review

This is a review about two eyeshadows from the brand Artdeco.
I own two colors. Unfortunately, I can't use the blue color because I have green eyes and I've tried to make it work but it' just a color that I can't wear.
Both colors are shimmery. But, I find that when you put it on your lid, it doesn't look as shimmery as in the pan. I like the texture of these eyeshadow, they're really soft and easy to blend. Pigmentation is okay, but I've seen better in some other highend brands.
Overall I like the pink eyeshadow. But, I don't think it's worth the price I paid for it. (I was approximatively 16$ each)

Rimmel London Natural Bronzer - Review

This is going to be a review on Rimmel London Natural bronzer.
This is a bronzer that I bought today because I've hit the pan on my Sephora bronzer in Bora Bora. I'm going on a trip next week and I didn't want to bring it with me because I don't want it to break.
Okay so I went there looking for the closest thing to my Sephora bronzer in Bora Bora. I can honestly say that Rimmel's Natural Bronzer in 021 Sun Light is a really close dupe. I was so happy when I arrived at home because I didn't bring it with me. The only slight difference between the two is one the price! and two, there's a little bit less shimmers in the Rimmel one. (After I wrote this, when applied, the Rimmel bronzer is less pigmented than Sephora's bronzer)
So, I really like the color of this bronzer. I've tried it when I arrived at home and I really like the way it shows up. There's a good pigmentation for a bronzer.
Okay, so I totally recommend this bronzer for anyone except maybe you'll want to check a darker shade if you have a darker skin than me.

Rimmel London stay matte pressed powder - Review

This is going to be a first impression review about Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder.
Today I bought this pressed powder because I was looking for something really cheap. I already have a pressed powder but I've it pan on it and I don't want to bring it on this trip I'm going because I'm scared it's going to break and it was really expensive. So, I decided to buy this Rimmel pressed powder and give it a chance during my vacations.
First, I bought it in shade 004 Sandstorm. It's a very light color because I have a really fair skin. But, I find that it looks darker in the picture than it does in person. Because it's really a light shade.
On thing that I just realized and that I like is that on the back of this powder, it says it's good for 30 months so that's pretty much a long time even for a powder product.
I didn't use it yet but I'm planning on using it tonight and I've swatched it and I really liked the texture.
The only negative point would have to be the packaging. The cap doesn't stay on! But I guess that's what you can expect for the price.
Overall I think I will like this powder. Let's just hope it doesn't break me out when I'll try it!

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Airy Fairy - Review

This is a lipstick from Rimmel that I really like. It's one of Rimmels Lasting Finish lipstick and it's in the color Airy fairy.
Pros:
- I really like the color. It's a nice pink and there's an hard to describe gold reflect to it. It think this color is just perfect. It's easily wearable and gives you just the perfect subtle pop of color on your lips.
- The formulation is really good. I like that it doesn't dry my lips too much like some other lipstick do.
- I like that this lipstick is long wearing and stay's on your lips for a long time.
Con:
- The only con I have is that sometimes it tends to go into fine lines of my lips if I don't watch out how I apply it. I usually put coat, bloat away with a kleenex and reapply a thin layer and I don't have any problems and it makes the lipstick stay longer.
This is a really good inexpensive lipstick and I really recommend it. I also like the variety of shades Rimmel has and I'm definitely going to buy other shades of these lipsticks.

Sephora Collection White Jumbo Pencil - Review

I really wanted to buy the NYX jumbo pencil in milk because of what I've seen, it looks super pigmented in swatches. But, NYX is a brand that's harder to get for me so while I was in a Sephora, I decided to try something similar. I knew from the beginning that the Sephora one contains some shimmers, something that the NYX one doesn't have. So this is the review about Sephora's jumbo pencil:
The pencil itself is a decent size. I know it's going to last me a long time. The color, as you can see in the picture is not pigmented a lot. In the picture, I passed over it a few times and this was pretty much the most color I could get. For the staying power, I tried it on my inner lid and I can see that even over top of my UD primer potion, it had a tendency to crease. I never tried it all over my lid because I'm scared it will crease. Even if it's not the best pigmentation ever, it still helps showing the colors more vibrant.
Overall, this was an okay product. Not amazing and not horrible. But, next time, I will definitely go online and order NYX Jumbo pencil and give a try as it is less expensive than buy this one again.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow primer potion in SIN - Review

I already own the original UD primer potion. I was in a Sephora the other day and I decided to get the one in the color sin because it looked like a very pretty color.
What I really like about this product is that as the original one, it's super smooth and silky and feels amazing when you put it on your eyes. Also, you don't feel like you need to pull the skin and rub your eye to blend and spread the product.
I really like the nice champagne color. It looks amazing under any shimmery color. What I personally do because I don't like shimmery highlight, is use this shade on my lid and get just a little bit over the crease and then use the original one on my brow and blend it all together.
The one problem I have with mine is that the stopper doesn't remove enough product from the wand applicator and it can get a little bit messy. But, I think it's just mine that does that because my original one is okay.
I really recommend it if you're looking for a nice shimmery base for your eyeshadow. But, you don't really need to have both the original and this one. If you were only to buy one, I would recommend the original one because it's going to work with any eyeshadow you want.

Sephora eyeshadow in aspen summit no23 - Review

This is an eyeshadow that I received for free from Sephora as a birthday gift. The kit also included a small eyeliner pencil and a trial size mascara.
I really like the eyeshadow because the pigmentation is really nice. Also, I can use it for different purpose. I really like to use it with a small brush on my inner tear duct and it just make my eyes pop, opens them up and make them look more awake. Also, it makes a nice brow Highlight when used with a fluffy brush and a very light hand. I don't do it often but if you want, you can use it to highlight you cupids bow on top of your lips to give the appearance of fuller and more defined lips.
I definitely recommend that you buy it as this is available at Sephora for 12$ US.

Smashbox perfectly polished lid set - Review

Recently, I made an online order on Sephora's website. I saw that with 500 beauty insider points, you could get a kit from smashbox that contained a full sized trio, a full size cream liner and trial sizes of smashbox lid primer and lash DNA mascara.
The eyeshadows: Gives you 3 gorgeous shades (Vanilla, Champagne and Brazilian Bronze). I've used it a lot since I received it and I really like the natural look I can achieve. I put champagne on the lid, brazilian bronze in the crease and use vanilla that is a matte shade as my brow highlight. I find that the Brazilian Bronze is just perfect in the crease for a daytime look but you may want to have some darker colors if you're looking to create a nightime look.
Cream liner: It's a brown cream liner. I was really happy to receive it because I only had black gel/cream liner. I think it looks amazing paired with a look made with the trio.
The mascara: I think it's a good mascara but not the best I've tried. The amount of product you get is pretty good for a trial size.
The primer: I kept it because I'm probably going to bring it when I go for trips because it's smaller but it's not even close to my Urban Decay Primer Potion. It's stay pretty much the same amount of time but the difference is that my Urban Decay feels so much smoother when I apply it.
Overall, it's an amazing value!!! If you look at it, it's pretty much a set worth at least 40$. When you get it for free, it's amazing! The only thing is that I like some products a lot and I know I won't be able to repurchase it after I run out of the products.

NYC lipstick in Retro Red - Review

I bought this lipstick this fall because my friend had her sweet sixteen birthday party and her theme was the 50's. I really wanted a bright red lipstick and I really wanted it to be inexpensive because I knew I would probably not wear it any other time. But, actually, I ended up wearing it another time: at Halloween!
Okay so first, let start with the color payoff. It's crazy pigmented! In the picture, I only swiped it once and look how opaque it is! So this is a positive. A negative would be that you absolutely need to wear lip liner with this lipstick because it's going to move if you don't like I did. Also, there's not a lot of staying power. I find it wears off not long after applying it.
Overall I think this is a good lipstick for Halloween or special occasions but nothing that you can wear during the day. 1. Because of the color and 2. because you're going to have to keep reapplying it every 30 minutes!

Cover Girl Cheekers blush - Review

I first must say that I'm very impressed with Cover Girl blushes. It's a very good drugtore blush. The pigmentation is good, even better than some highend blushes I've tried.
I own two shades: 154 Deep plum and 103 Natural Shimmers. I like both of these shades for very different purpose. The Deep plum (I don't find that the name really suits the product), is a very nice pink blush. It is a quite shimmery blush but it doesn't bother me. The second one, Natural shimmer, is just as the name describes it. It adds some natural shimmers to your face. You can use it as a blush but even if I have a really fair skin, I prefer to use it as an highlight.
Overall Covergirl Cheekers are really great blush. And I definitely recommend them to everyone.

Korres Blush - Review

This is a review on some Korres blushes that I got for 10$ each during a sale at Sephora not long ago.
When I first received it, I had mixed feelings about these.
When I opened the box, two came unattached from the case but I just glued it myself. Separate shades review:
-Orange: I really needed to swirl my brush to get some product on but the second time I used it was not as bad. The color is really pretty and looks nice on the cheeks.
- Coral: The coral one looks really nice. It's more of a pinkish coral color. It's looks kind of deeper in the pan but when applied it turns okay even on my fair skin.
- Mauve: Really pretty pretty much the same as the coral. Looks deeper in the pan but turns out okay on the cheeks.
- Plum brown: It's really darker than I tough it would be. I can't use it as a blush on my fair skin. But, I found another use for it. It actually make a nice contour powder.
Overall, I'm pleased with the product. But, I would probably not buy all four if it would not have been on discount.
