Nyx Round lipgloss in Whipped–Review

This is a review on Nyx Round lipgloss in Whipped. I really like Nyx Round lipgloss. This is not going to be a review on the product itself but on the shade. If you want a review about Nyx Round lipglosses overall, you can check my last post about this lipgloss in Pinky Natural.

The color is a really nice pale nude color. It has just a tiny hint of pink which makes it perfect for me because I like pinky nudes better than beige nudes. It has no shimmers at all and the best lipgloss I could compare it to would have to be Mac’s Cremesheen lipglosses.

I really recommend this lipgloss because it is really similar to Mac’s cremesheen lipglosses for only a fraction of the price. I bought these on Cherryculture.com for only 1.99$. It’s definitely worth checking out.

Nyx Round lipgloss in Pinky natural - Review

This is a review about Nyx Round lipgloss. This lipgloss retails at 1.99$ at Cherryculture.com. I really like this website because it’s the place where you can find Nyx at the cheapest prices. The Nyx Round lipgloss is a really inexpensive lipgloss. It’s a little bit cheaper than the Nyx Megashine lipglosses that retails at 3.99 (or is it 2.99?). The only thing is that you get a lot less product than the Megashine. In the Megashine lipgloss, you get 15ml while in the Round lipgloss you only get 2.5ml. But, this seems small but you get a decent amount of product. I think if you want to choose between both, you need to choose either if you want a color to wear everyday or either if you want multiple colors that you will not wear often. I personally prefer to have more colors and wear different colors everyday but that’s my preference.

Another difference is the smell. Nyx Megashine lipgloss smells like cherry while Nyx Round lipgloss smells like lemon dishwasher. I personally don’t like any of these smells but thankfully, it' wears off quick.

The color I got is called Pinky natural. It’s a nice medium pink color. It is slightly darker than my natural lip color. It is really pretty and it has a nice cream finish. I really like to compare both of my Nyx Round lipglosses with Mac’s Cremesheen lipglosses because they are really similar except that the Mac one has a nice vanilla scent to it :).

So, I would really recommend this lipgloss and if you need to choose between Megashine and Round lipglosses, it’s just a personal preference because both are really good and I would recommend both to anyone.

Nyx trio in Olive Grove - Review

This is the fourth Nyx trio I own. I wanted to try this trio because I don’t have a lot of green eyeshadow. I also find that these three colors work well together to create a nice colorful look that’s not too much over the top. There are separate reviews of each shades:

1. The orange-peachy shade has shimmers like all the shades. I is light enough to be used on the lid but, when I use the palette to create a look, I like to use it in the crease.

2. The second color is a nice pale green with shimmers. It is really light and is really pretty as an all over the lid color.

3. The third shade is a nice olive green color. I really like this color  to transition with the other green from a lighter green on the inside of the lid to a darker green on the outside of the lid. It’s a very nice color and is really neutral for a green color. It’s definitely not a bright green color.

This is not the most wearable of Nyx trios but even if it’s not neutrals, I pretty much think anybody could pull-off a look with this trio. If you like the colors, the quality of the shadows is really nice and it’s nice to use some unique different colors.

Nyx trio in Jazzy Bronze - Review

This is the separate review about Nyx trio in Jazzy Bronze. I really like this trio and out of the 4 trios I own, this would have to be my favourite. I really like that all the colors are pigmented in this trio. There are the separate shades reviews:

1. The first color is a nice pale pink that can be used either as a very light lid color, or as an highlight. It’s nicely pigmented for a lighter color and has some shimmers in it. I really like the way the shimmers show up on my eyes.

2. The second color is a nice gold color. It is a really pretty lid color and could even work as a transition color in the crease. It also has some shimmers as all the Nyx trios I own. It is a nice pigmented color.

3. The third color is a nice coppery rosy brownish color. It’s pretty hard to explain especially in your second language! Even if it has some shimmers, I really like this color to define my crease and add a little bit of depth to the eye. But, I have to warn you. This is not going to be a dramatic color. It’s more of a lighter subtle crease color. But, for it’s special purpose, it is really pretty.

So, as I mentioned earlier, this is my favourite trio in the 4 Nyx trios I have. I think what works for this trio is that you can use all three colors together to create a really pretty look. Also, It’s nice that all the colors are pigmented and apply really well and smoothly. So, if you only had to get one trio, this would be the one I would recommend.

Nyx trio in Orange/Golden Orange/Peach - Review

This is a really pretty trio of peachy orangey coppery shades that I got from Nyx. All Nyx eyeshadows that I own are pigmented but I really like this one because it’s not good pigmentation… It’s great as you can see from swatches. I really like the shades of this palette because they turn out really pretty on your eyes. The eyeshadows are soft and easy to work with and to blend. Also, I like that for the shimmery shades, you don’t get a lot of fallouts. I got this trio for 5.50$ on cherryculture.com so it’s an amazing value. I would really recommend to try this color or any other color they have.

There are separate reviews of each shades:

Orange : I find this color to  be very pretty in the pan. It’s definitely the brighter color in the trio. In the pan, that’s pretty much the prettiest shade. But, unfortunately, it doesn’t show up like that in swatches. It’s really light and you really need to build the color. You can make it work but you need to build it up a lot and use a lot of products. It’s sad because it’s was my favorite color but that color was not pigmented enough to have a good rating.

Golden Orange : The name really suits the color well. It’s a gold color with slightly orange undertones. I really like this color and it is totally the opposite of the Orange color. This color has a really good pigmentation and what you see in the pan is what you get on your eyes. I really like this color to use on the outer part of my lids.

Peach : This is the darker color of this trio. As with golden orange, the pigmentation is really nice. The color is a really pretty copper color that would be really pretty as a really subtle crease color. It would also be nice to use it on the outer part of the lid. I like that it adds a little bit of subtle contouring to the crease without being too much.

So, that was my review about this shade. So in this trio, you get 3 shades of a decent size. Ok, there’s one shade that’s a little bit of a hit and miss but for the price, I don’t think you really can complain. But, the two other colors are pretty so I would probably recommend it anyway.

Nyx trio in Baby pink/Cotton candy/Spring flower - Review

IMG_4035

This is a pretty pink trio that I have from Nyx. This is going to be a review on the individual shades in this trio.

Baby Pink: This is a very light pink shade. It has some shimmers and I would use it as an highlight under the brow bone with a fluffy brush or in the inner tear duct for an eye brightening effect.

Cotton Candy: This is  a light but noticeable pink. I like that you can definitely see that it’s a pink when you wear it on your eyes but it’s not too bright. It is also a shimmery color. That one contains a lot of shimmers.

Spring flower: This color is a little bit darker than the other pink but it is still very light. I would use this as an all over lid color or as an outer lid color to create a gradient paired with the other pink.

Overall, I really like Nyx eyeshadows. The texture is really smooth and they are quite pigmented even if they are lighter shades. I also like that I don’t really get a lot of fallouts. Also, they last a long time with my Urban Decay primer potion. The other day, I had a soccer tournament and I woke up at 6am drove 4 hours, played two games sweating under the sun, and another game at night when it was raining a lot and water was dripping off our faces. When I arrived at the hotel at 10pm, my eyeshadow was still there and I would actually have worn it out! The only negative thing is the packaging. I find that the compact is a little bit hard to open but this can also be a positive because you will be sure that it’s not going to open if you put it in your makeup bag or your purse.

This cost me 5.50$. I think it’s an amazing value considering that you get 3 full size eyeshadows. The pans are really big so you are sure a color is going to last a long time. So overall, 5.50$ for 4.6g of products is a really good price especially when it’s good quality.

Review Nyx Mega Shine lipgloss in Gold pink

IMG_3996

This is the same kind of lipgloss that I just blogged about. It is Nyx’s Mega Shine lipgloss. In my review for the other shade I have, I went more in depth for the formulation and the product itself but for this post, I’ll just review the color.

This is a really nice pink lipgloss. Usually, I don’t like glitters and shimmers in my lipglosses. But, in this one, the shimmers are so pretty that I can’t do anything but like it. Also, when i received it, I knew that it would be perfect for one lipstick I already had because most of my lipglosses have silver shimmers in it but this one has gold shimmers in it. So, anyone who has Rimmel’s lasting finish in Airy fairy, I would really recommend this lipgloss to pair with this lipstick.

Overall, I really recommend this lipstick not only because of it’s pretty color, but also because the formulation feels really nice on your lips and I like that it’s not too sticky.

Review–Nyx Mega Shine lipgloss in Smokey look

IMG_3999IMG_3984

In my recent Cherryculture haul, I bought 2 Nyx Megashine lipgloss. This is in the color Smokey look. This is a really pretty color. I find the name pretty much goes well with the color because this is color would be perfect paired with a smokey eye.

Pros:

- Really inexpensive

- You get a lot of products

- Not too sticky

Cons:

- They don’t last super long but usually other lipglosses doesn’t last long too

Overall, I would really recommend anyone to get it because it is a really pretty color and also because it’s an amazing value.

Swatches–Nyx Round lipstick

These are the swatches of my Nyx round lipsticks I got for 1.99$ at Cherryculture.com.

Here are the colors in order:

Mars, Margarita, Indian Pink, Hebe, Circe, Pumpkin Pie, Tea Rose, Milan

Theses were taken under natural light coming from a window.

FOTD #2–Black smokey eye with nude pink lips and cheeks

This is the full face of makeup I would wear with the previous EOTD look I did. I simply applied foundation, concealer and powder. After, I contoured the hollows of my cheeks with a matte bronzer. I dusted a little bit of pale peach-pink blush on the apples of my cheeks. For the lips, I just applied a light pinky nude lipstick with a light nude lipsgloss on top.

Products used:

- Foundation : Avene couvrance fluid foundation corrector

- Bronzer: Rimmel Natural Bronzer in Sun Light

- Blush: Rimmel blush in Santa Rose

- Lipstick: OMG I did this look a little while ago so I don’t remember exactely wich shade I used. It’s either Mac Hue or Kat Von D painted love lipstick in Celebutard. (Both will look the same on your lips with a gloss on top of it.)

- Lipgloss: Revlon Super Lustrous lipgloss in peach petal

So that was the finished look. I hope you liked it. Keep reading the blog for another fun colourful variation of this eye look that can be done with any color you want.

EOTD #15–Pink and black cut crease look

This is the same look that I just did the other day but I just wanted to add a little bit of color for peoples who like colors. The only thing I did was add a shade of pink on the lid where the skin tone color was. What I like about this look is that it can be done with any colors you want. I think it would be really pretty with purple! I know purple is my favorite color and I wear it everyday. Also, I think to make the look pop a little bit more and add more fun, you could add some glitters on top of the colourful shadow you added. I think it would have a nice effect. But, remember to keep the outer corner and the crease matte because you still want some definition in theses areas.

Nyx Round lipstick in Pumpkin pie - Review

IMG_3958IMG_3955

This is Nyx Round lipstick in Pumpkin Pie. I really like this color because it is very natural and I really like having natural lips for the day time. When I buy lipsticks, I like to be able to wear them often so that’s a really good color for everyday. I would really see this color for every season as it is really versatile and can be worn with pretty much everything. This is a really pretty shade and I totally recommend it.

Nyx Round lipstick in Tea rose - Review

IMG_3965IMG_3963

This is Nyx round lipstick in Tea Rose. First, I want to apologize for the lip swatch. I don’t know why but after I took all the pictures, this picture was blurry and it was the only picture that was like that. I’ll try to update this post with a  new picture but anyway, this is a Rosy color that is a little bit darker than my natural lips. Usually, I don’t wear a lot of darker lipsticks. I prefer lighter lipsticks but this one even if it’s a little bit on the darker side, still looks pretty on me even for the daytime. Peoples will notice you have lipstick on but it is still kind of natural enough to wear for work or casual events. Anyway, it’s a pretty color even if I wouldn’t say it’s my favourite of the bunch I got from Cherryculture last week.

EOTD #14– Black cut crease smokey eye

IMG_3823IMG_3824IMG_3827IMG_3831IMG_3833

A little while ago, a girl posted about a picture on luxe about this look. She said that she can do smokey eyes and have tried to copy the look in the picture and she wasn’t able. That was kind of a challenge for me. I’m not used of copying looks from pictures but I think this one turned out to be very similar to the look in the picture. The look is pretty much a light skin colored shade on you lid and a dark black shade to contour your crease and outer V coming on the lid. So this is how I created it step by step:

1. I applied a shade a little bit lighter than my skin tone to all my lid up to my eyebrow.

2. I applied the black shadow where I wanted it using a small angled brush E65 (Mac 266) I would usually use to put on eyeliner. Don’t worry about blending at this point we’re going to come back later for blending.

3. I used my Sigma E30 pencil brush (Mac 219) to darken the crease and outer V and start to blend a little bit the black out.

4. Being careful not to go in to much, I started blending with my Sigma E40 tapered blending brush (Mac 224) just at the edges of the black shadow. After this step, I reapplied the black eye shadow to add the intensity I lost. You can repeat these two steps as much time as you need to get the desired intensity of the look.

5. To blend out the outer higher edges of the black shadow, I used a brown a little bit darker than my skin tone to act as a transition color. I blended it in the black with a Sigma’s E25 which is a smaller blending brush (Mac 217)

5. I reapplied the lighter shade all over my lid and under my brow where there could have some fallouts.

6. I then lined my eyes with the black shadow with the same angled brush I used earlier.

7. I applied black eyeliner to my waterline and added two coats of mascara and the look was done.

So, that’s the look… It ended looking really similar to the picture that I saw on luuux. I hope you liked it (:
