Review–Victoria’s secret Pink with a splash all over body mist

This is a perfume that I got from Victoria’s secret. Usually I’m not too big on perfumes and I don’t usually wear any but when I went to smell that one, I thought it smelled so good that I need to try it. I got the mini size which still has 75ml for only 8$.

I really like the smell. I’m horrible to describe the smell but trust me, it smells really good. If you have a chance to check it in stores, I definitely recommend you to go check this out. Also, for the price, you really get a lot of product. I know I will never get through one bottle. If you are scared of perfume as I was and still kind of little bit am, just spray it in the air and then walk in the mist you just sprayed and it’s going to give you a nice smell without having peoples noticing you’re wearing perfume.

I really recommend this perfume because it smells really good and I like that it doesn’t smell too strong and just has a really refreshing smell to it.

EOTD–Dark purple look with double winged liner

Hey bloggers,

This is a look I did using mostly my Kat Von D True love palette. There are the steps to create this look.

1. I used the white shade with purple reflex on the inner third of my lid.

2. I used the bright lighter purple on the middle third of my lid.

3. I used the medium purple on the outer third of my lid.

4. I blended everything so it fades from the lighter purple to the darker purple without harsh lines.

5. I applied the darker purple which is more of a black with purple shimmers in my crease.

6. I applied the matte black shade on the outer v area of my eyes to darken that area.

7. I blended the crease color out using a matte eyeshadow a little bit darker than my skin.

8. I applied a matte highlight color a little bit lighter than my skintone.

9. I created the same pattern on my lower lashline. After I was done, I thought this look needed to pop a little bit more so I added Urban Decay’s 24/7 liner in ransom in the middle third.

10. I lined my upper lashline with my Physician’s formula pen eyeliner and I lined my lower waterline with Kat Von D’s eyeliner in Black metal love.

11. I added two coats of my Cover Girl lash blast mascara and that finished the look.

I really hope you liked this look. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. Feel free to subscribe.

Review–Benefit dandelion

This is a review on a blush that I got for free with my 500 beauty insider points at Sephora. I was really happy to get it because it’s an amazing gift to get for free. This blush usually retails for 26$ US.

This blush is a really nice soft pink with shimmers. If you have fair skin like me, you can use it as a blush or an highlight and if you have a darker skin, you can only use it as an highlight. I really like how this blush gives me a nice glow.

This blush is really soft and is a little bit powdery. It can be a little bit chalky if you’re not careful with it but it doesn’t really bother me.

This blush has kind of a smell to it which is rare for powder blushes. I don’t think it’s that strong of a smell but if you don’t tolerate smell well, I don’t think this product would be good for you.

This blush is nicely pigmented and I have no problem with it showing a nice glow on my fair skin. I also tried to use it as an highlight and it is also really pretty on top of a darker blush. I really recommend this blush because I think it’s a nice everyday natural blush that just gives you that youthful glow.

EOTD–Summer natural party look

IMG_4368

Hey Bloggers,
This is a look I created using my Urban Decay Naked palette. I wore this look the other for a night out with my friends at a dance. I didn’t want to do too much makeup because first I was in a rush and didn’t have a lot of time and second it’s summer time so I feel like I like wearing less makeup in the summer.
Products I used:
- Urban Decay Naked palette
- Mac beauty powder in Blush of Youth
- Rimmel’s natural bronzer in Sunlight
- Revlon’s photoready foundation
- Rimmel’s concealer
- Rimmel’s Stay Matte powder
- Physician’s formula pen eyeliner
- Urban Decay 24/7 liner in zero
- Cover girl lash blast mascara
- Mac lipstick in Lollipop loving
So this is the look. I think even if I wore it for a night out, I would probably still wear this look on day time because it’s not too much for my taste. The only thing for day time that I would do is I would wear a matte highlight from another palette instead of the shimmery highlight from the Naked palette that I used there. I hope you liked this look. I know I’m doing more natural looks for the past looks I did but I’ll try next time to do a fun bright tutorial.

Review–Lise Watier glitter eyeliners

Hey bloggers,

This is a review on two glitter liners that I have from Lise Watier. Lise Watier is a brand that you can get in Canadian drugstores. It’s a brand that’s a little bit more expensive than usually drugstore makeup is and the prices are closer to highend makeup.

At first when I started wearing makeup, I didn’t wear eyeshadow and the only thing I would wear would be a little line of glitter liner on my lash line. Those were the glitter liners I would be using. I have two colors: one light pink color and one purple color. I really like to use them either as a liner or also as glitters all over the lid for special events like concerts and anywhere when I will be on the stage or at night. One thing for sure is that I get a lot of compliments when I use it on my lids as glitters.

These come in a clear gel so, it’s the glitters that provide the color. To get a nice color. You need to layer it and to pat in instead of drawing a line. But, as you can see in the swatches, you don’t need to add too much layers to get a nice effect.

I really like these glitter eyeliners and the only complaint would have to be the price. They are about 18$ before the taxes so it’s kind of expensive. I would really like to try Nyx liners to be able to make a comparison because I think it would be a nice inexpensive alternative. Usually, I don’t care to pay a lot for makeup but only on something I will wear everyday and glitter eyeliner is not something I wear everyday.

Review - Personelle Pro brush cleanser

Hey bloggers,

This is a review about this brush cleanser that I got from Personelle. This is a brand exclusive in Jean Coutu pharmacies and it is only sold in Canada. This is an Ultra Soft brush cleanser with lavender and tea tree essential oils.

The cleanser really works well and removes everything from my brushes. My white bristles brushes come clean and it really removes well any cream product.

Usually, smell doesn’t bother me at all in makeup products. But this product I think this is anything but Soft! The smell is so strong that I need to wear a mask or work really far from my face because it burns my nose and my throat. How can a natural cleanser do that and smell so strong? Fortunately, the smell doesn’t stay on the brushes after it dries.

I think it’s sad that it has such a strong smell to it because this cleanser really works well and I like that it’s from the drugstore and it’s not too expensive. (I think you can get it for around 10$) But, except if  you can tolerate the smell, I can’t really recommend it because I would rather pay more to get one without the smell than to buy this one another time.

Review–Avene Cold Cream lip balm

Hey bloggers,

I don’t like doing bad reviews but I think that I need to share with everyone bad products because I just don’t want you spending money for a really bad product in my opinion. I just want to remember that I always want to be honest with my review and share every products that I try for the good and the bad.

This is a lip balm  you can get from Avene at the drugstore. Avene is a brand that’s really good for your skin. I got this lip balm a little while ago as a bonus with the purchase of hand cream. I’m happy that I didn’t pay for it because this is the worst lip balm I’ve ever tried. There are the reasons why:

When I apply it on my lips, it’s waxy and  too hard to apply. I need to rub it on my lips to apply it  and sometimes it becomes chunky.

When on my lips. It’s white! Ok, my lips don’t turn white because it’s sheer but it' gives them a white tint. Who wants white lips!?

It doesn’t do anything for my lips. When my lips are dry, it doesn’t do anything. After applying it for a couple of days in a row really often, I don’t see any amelioration and when applied I don’t feel like it moisturizes my lips.

It is really pricy for a lip balm especially for a drugstore one. It’s more expensive than lip balms usually are and I think cheaper lip balms like Nivea and Softlips are way better than this one.

Overall, as you can see, I don’t recommend this lip balm pretty much because it doesn’t do what a lip balm is supposed to do. Also, any I think any other cheap lip balm will work the same at least or a lot better.

Beauty tips–Vaseline

IMG_3705

Hey bloggers,

Today’s beauty tips is achieved using vaseline. I have a couple different ways to use it.

I like to use vaseline as a lipbalm because it really moisturize your lips. I also like that it is really cheap and you get tons of product. I apply vaseline on my lips everyday at night and it keeps my lips from becoming dry.

Also, you can use vaseline as a tinted lipbalm. You just need to mix it with any powder products that has pigmentation and it’s going to give you a nice sheer lipbalm of the color you want.

I don’t use it often but I’ve heard that vaseline is good as a eye cream and also to use at the base of your lashes and it conditions them. I’m lucky because I don’t feel the need of an eyecream of eyelash kind of treatment.

Vaseline is also good as a moisturizer on any minor cut on dry skin or lips. I find it helps to heal really quickly and really moisturises the affected area.

I think anyone should have vaseline in their kit because it makes a really inexpensive lipbalm and is able to create fun custom lipcolors.

EOTD–Everyday makeup for school or work

Hey bloggers,

This is pretty much the look I like to wear everyday for school or work. I like it because it’s natural but really makes your eyes pop. I also like to switch the products I use and change every day to create different versions. It’s really easy to achieve. There are the steps with no specific products so you can use whatever you have:

1. Prime your eyelids.

2. Apply a light shimmery champagne shade to your eye.

3. Apply a slightly darker shade to your outer V and crease area.

4. Blend all the colors together and blend to soften the outer edges of the darker color.

5. Apply a matte highlight shade that’s a little bit lighter than you skin tone.

6. Apply eyeliner to your lash line. You can use whatever form of eyeliner you want to use.(You can skip this step if you want)

7. Apply eyeliner to your waterline.

8. Apply your favorite mascara and you are good to go.

I hope you liked this everyday look. I find sometimes it’s nice to do celebrity inspired looks or dramatic looks but what pretty much every woman wears everyday is more simple and natural so I also think that kind of makeup is really important.

Mac eyeshadow in Purple Shower - Review

Hey bloggers,

Sorry if this week I wasn’t able to post a lot regularly. It’s because I worked about 40 hours plus I had a fire at my friends house and with sports and everything, I didn’t have a lot of time left. This week is not going to be better but I hope I will be able to post more because I have a long weekend and nothing to do so I think I’ll have the time to write a little bit :).

But, coming back to this post. This is my  review on Mac’s eyeshadow in Purple rain. I bought it a the CCO for about 10$. It’s a really nice purple color but can look a little bit more pink on the eyes than I wish. So, if you’re not careful, the color can make you look a little bit tired. But, you can definitely make this color work.  You just have to figure out the good colors to wear it with.

My major complaint about this color is that it’s too sheer. I like my eyeshadows to be super pigmented but this one is just not as pigmented as I would want it to be. This is one of my first Mac eyeshadows and after having heard everyone rave about it on Youtube and blogs, I’m kind of a little bit disappointed of the quality of the product. But, it’s buildable so you can definitely build it up but you need to apply more product and spend more time to make the color work while with a good eyeshadow you shouldn’t have to.

So, this was my review on this eyeshadow. It’s not a bad product it’s just that it’s not as amazing  as I want it to be.

Mac Beauty powder in blush of youth - Review

I got this blush at a CCO during my recent trip to Maine. I really like this color because it’s just a really pretty light pink and I really like this kind of color on me because it looks really natural.

I got this for 15$ which is a really good price considering you get 11g of product. That’s huge! It’s more than twice the size of a mineralized blush from Mac. And, I paid a lot less than mineralized blushes would cost me usually.

The pigmentation is good for such a light blush and I like that it’s not a lot powdery as some other close to matte blushed can be. The colors shows up well on my fair skin but
I’m not sure it will show up as well on darker skin tones than mine.

I really recommend this blush because it’s really pretty and it’s the perfect color for lighter skin tones like mine. You can find it at a CCO and I really hope you have the chance to get it.

Mac In the Gallery eyeshadow quad - Review

Hey everyone,

This is my review about a Mac quad that I got from the Cosmetic Company Store in Freeport, ME. I really like purples so when I saw this quad, I was automatically drawn to it. Also, the price tag was really good. They were selling it for 25$ US which is really good because usually, 4 eyeshadows cost 60$US at regular Mac stores. I was really excited because I’ve never tried Mac eyeshadows before.

When I looked at the colors, I was immediately drawn to them because I really like purples. Also, most colors were matte and I don’t have a lot of good matte colors so that’s why I decided to get it. As you can see, I was a little bit disappointed when I first swatched the colors because on swatches, it’s nothing like what I expected from Mac. I had a hard time having the lighter colors to show up. But, when applied with a brush, they don’t look the same on the eyes. You actually get a much better pigmentation after using them a couple of times so I guess I should have updated the swatches. With theses colors, you can create a nice natural purple eye look.

Something I like about this quad is that you van create a full look just using the colors in it. I personally like to use the lighter satin shade as an highlight, the lighter shimmery shade on the first half of my lid, the lighter matte purple on the outer half of my lid and the darker matte purple in my crease and outer V area.

Also, theses shadows last long with a primer.

Overall, the pigmentation didn’t amaze me but, the colors are pretty and I really like the look you get using theses colors. So,  I think it’s still good for the price I paid. But, I have to admit, I would have been a little bit disappointed if I would have paid 60$ for this quad.

Mac lipstick in Lollipop Loving - Review

Hey everyone,

I got this lipstick at The Cosmetic Company Store in Freeport, ME. It just kind of stood out for me without being too bright. I got this for 10$ US which is really good for Mac lipsticks. I really liked my experience at CCS because I really felt like I saved a lot of money. There is the review:

This is a glaze finish but I feel like it’s really different from the other glaze lipstick I have which is hue. I think hue is definitely more of a creamy opaque finish while this lipstick is kind of a sheer shimmery lipstick. I usually prefer quite matte lipsticks but this one has just the perfect quantity of shimmers or maybe the best word to describe it would be a sheen.

The color in the tube is a very different color. It’s peachy-pink with subtle green reflex. It’s kind of a really fun color in the tube and you think: “Wow! That’s so pretty!”. I usually prefer more natural lipsticks and when you apply it on your lips, it’s kind of on the sheerer side and it looks very natural.

I really recommend this lipstick because I really like it and I know it was a limited edition but, they still have it at the CCO’s so you should really try to find it there.

Mac Mineralize Blush in Dainty - Review

Hey everyone,

This is a review about Mac Mineralize blush in Dainty. I got this blush at the Mac counter at Macy’s in Portland. I’ve seen this blush before first in swatches online and after during my last trip to Toronto. I just really liked this color but, when I first saw it in Toronto, my wallet was still hurting from my passage to Sephora before! So, this time, I went to Mac first and the first thing I asked for was this. So, there’s my review about it:

The color is really pretty. I has a little bit of shimmers in it but trust me, you won’t look like a giant disco ball because the shimmers are not really noticeable on your face. I only gives you a slightly dewy look.

The pigmentation of this blush is amazing. You only have to tap lightly your brush on the blush and it will give you a nice flush of color on your cheeks. This blush is going to last you a long time because you don’t have to use a lot.

As for all Mac products, I really like the packaging because it’s really professional and black usually is pretty with everything.

I really like this blush. The only thing is that it’s kind of a little bit expensive. I thought I was going to get a deal because I am in the US and everything is super cheap in the US! But, I think Mac readjusted their prices since the Canadian dollar went up because now the prices are the same in the States than in Canada. But, I think even if it’s expensive, it’s a really good blush and I still recommend it. I only have two Mac blushes but, I can easily say that Mac is my favorite brand of blushes and it even surpasses Nars in my opinion.

Urban Decay Naked palette - Review

Ok so this week I am in Maine and I’m so happy because I stopped at Sephora in Portland and they had the Naked palette! I went to several Sephora’s before in Canada and they never had this palette in stock. I didn’t want to order it online because in Canada you need to spend at 120$ in makeup to get free shipping and I didn’t want to pay some fees for the shipping. But, I finally got this palette. When I arrived in the store, the first section was the Urban Decay section and I went straight to that section. When I saw that they had the Naked palette in stock, I was so happy that I wanted to jump right in the store! Good thing I didn’t do it! It’s funny because my mother’s friend who was with us laughed of me because I was so excited. But, enough rambling! This is going to be my review:

Obviously, almost everybody has already seen the Naked palette either online or in the stores. Everybody knows that it’d a really nice palette that has 12 neutral colors. To review the shades, I’m going to review two different categories separately because there’s different comments about the matte and the shimmery shades.

Matte: I find that the mattes shades are just okay. It’s good but it was not amazing. You know when an eyeshadow has some kind of wax film on top and when you get past it, the eyeshadow is better, I felt like this one does. As you can see, the pigmentation is just not as amazing as the shimmery shades. Also, I had to go over the shade a couple of times to get that color while with shimmery shades, only one swipe would do the job. Don’t misunderstand me, they are good but just not as good as what I expected for the Naked palette. To compare it with the Too Faced Natural eye palette, the matte shades are just not as soft and pigmented so I prefer Too Faced matte shadows.

Shimmery: One word to describe the shimmery shadows: AMAZING! They are so nice, velvety, soft, easy to blend and super pigmented. I really like all the shimmery shades. With all this said the most amazing thing about theses shadows is that you do not get a lot of fallouts. I heard a lot of peoples compare Naked palette to Too Faced natural eye palette. I prefer Naked palette because you don’t get a lot off fallouts while with the Too Faced palette, you get tons of fallouts.

The palette also comes with an eyeshadow brush. I find it to be very similar to my ecotool eyeshadow brush. I personally don’t like this kind of brush but it’s a good brush for the kind of brush it is.

Also, as you probably know, it comes with a mini primer potion. I really like Urban Decay primer potion because it’s the best primer. Makes my eyeshadows last all day. But, I gave it to my mom because I still have two more tubes of the original one to use and 1 tube of the on in Sin to use. But, I really recommend it.

Overall, except for the matte shades, this palette is simply amazing. I really like it and I could easily see me use it everyday. The only other negative I have is that lid of the palette doesn’t snap. I think it would be safer to travel with if it had a cover that snaps. But, even with that, I still recommend it because it’s an excellent palette and I really think it’s worth your money.

Mac, Sephora, drugstore – Haul

This is a haul of stuff I got in the last two weeks. I got most of this stuff in the US because I’m on vacation there. This is what I got (for now :) !) :

- Urban Decay Naked palette : OMG I went to Sephora and they had Urban Decay Naked palette. I just already looked in sop many Sephora stores and it was always sold out  in Canada!!! Plus I got it for cheaper than it would have been in Canada!

- Mac In the Gallery quad : I got this quad at CCO. It was my first time in a CCO and I love it. They have more choice than I thought they had and the prices are amazing!!!

- Mac Purple Shower eyeshadow :  This is a Satin eyeshadow I got from the CCO. I didn’t try it yet but I love the bright purple color. I guess you can tell from this haul that I like purple!

- Mac Blush of Youth beauty powder : I got this also at the CCO. I really like the nice pink color it is.

- Mac Dainty mineralized blush : I first saw this blush on the internet and when I went to Toronto, I passed on it because I already had spent a lot of money. But, this time, it was the first thing I bought from the Mac counter because I found it so pretty the last time I had seen it.

- Mac Lollipop Loving lipstick : I also bought this at the CCO. I could have bought more but I didn’t want to spend all my money because I’m saving to buy a car this year.

- Physician Formula’s black pen liquid eyeliner :  I got this at Walmart. I also wanted to pick up Wet’n’wild products but they didn’t carry the line.

- Urban  Decay Karma eyeshadow brush: This came with the Naked palette. I’ll probably do a review on this particular brush.

- Maybelline One by One by Volume express : I got this at the drugstore before leaving because I was almost out of mascara. I accidentally bought it in Brown-Black. I usually only wear blackest black mascaras. I tried it and I still like it even if it’s not black, it’s still dark enough so I think I will keep it for at work for a more natural look.

- Covergirl Lash Blast mascara : This is the blackest black mascara I decided to get after realizing that I’ve first bough a brown mascara. I got it at the drugstore.

So this is my USA haul for now because I’m going to Sephora and Macy’s again today and I don’t if I will be able to keep myself from buying something new! Anyway, we’ll see! :)

Nyx blush in Natural - Review

This is Nyx powder blush in Natural. It’s a really pretty color and the name really fits this color well because it’s a really natural color. I really like that this is a light color that doesn’t wash out your face even if you have a fair skin. If you have a fair skin, I really recommend this blush because it looks really pretty on fair skins. It gives you a really pretty glow. As for all Nyx powder blushes I have, it is really pigmented and you only need a tiny bit on your cheeks. It is also very powdery so you need to make sure just to take a little bit of product on your brush. As I previously said, I recommend Nyx blushes and I also recommend this shade because it is really pretty.

Nyx blush in Pinky - Review

This is a review on Nyx Pinky powder blush. This is a very nice bright pink color. I was always scared but excited to try a bright pink blush on my fair skin. When I saw theses blushes on sale on Cherryculture.com for 4.50$, I though  that was my chance to get a nice bright pink blush that’s not too expensive. I don’t like spending a lot of money on products I know I will not be wearing everyday.

The color is really bright. It has a little bit of shimmers but it isn’t a glittery blush. You will not be able to see a lot of shimmers on your cheeks. When I use this brush, I like to use a duo-fibre brush because it allows me to use just a tiny bit so I don’t look like a clown. It might look scary at the first time but I guarantee you that you can tone it down to be a nice wearable pink blush. But, you also have the option to wear the color at it’s full intensity although I don’t think that would really be flattering except for Halloween.

So, this is a really nice alternative for a bright pink blush as it is only 4.50$. You can’t really go wrong at that price. So I think you should try it out to see if you like it and if not, it’s not as if you would have spent 20.00$+ on a blush you end up not liking.

Nyx blush in Angel–Review

This is a review on Nyx blush in Angel. I really like Nyx blushes because they are really pigmented and have a relatively nice staying power. This color is a really pretty color. It’s supposed to be  similar to Mac’s Well dressed blush. I saw Well dressed today at a CCO and from memory I can tell that it’s close but I don’t think it’s an exact dupe although it is similar in color (Well Dressed is slightly more pink than Angel).

This is a very pretty muted light pink color. I really like this blush because it’s an amazing value for the price but I have to tell you that it’s really powdery. Sometimes, it can get kind of dirty. Personally for me, it doesn’t bother me that much because everything else about this blush is so nice and for the price, it’s sure you don’t have expectations as high as if you were buying Mac..

Theses blushes retail at 4.50$ which is a really good value. I like having high end makeup because the quality is excellent in most products but I also like to find nice affordable products as well so if you are looking for a nice powder blush that’s not too expensive, I would really recommend it to you and you should definitely try it out.
