Nyx Round lipstick in Pumpkin pie - Review

IMG_3958IMG_3955

This is Nyx Round lipstick in Pumpkin Pie. I really like this color because it is very natural and I really like having natural lips for the day time. When I buy lipsticks, I like to be able to wear them often so that’s a really good color for everyday. I would really see this color for every season as it is really versatile and can be worn with pretty much everything. This is a really pretty shade and I totally recommend it.

Nyx Round lipstick in Tea rose - Review

IMG_3965IMG_3963

This is Nyx round lipstick in Tea Rose. First, I want to apologize for the lip swatch. I don’t know why but after I took all the pictures, this picture was blurry and it was the only picture that was like that. I’ll try to update this post with a  new picture but anyway, this is a Rosy color that is a little bit darker than my natural lips. Usually, I don’t wear a lot of darker lipsticks. I prefer lighter lipsticks but this one even if it’s a little bit on the darker side, still looks pretty on me even for the daytime. Peoples will notice you have lipstick on but it is still kind of natural enough to wear for work or casual events. Anyway, it’s a pretty color even if I wouldn’t say it’s my favourite of the bunch I got from Cherryculture last week.

EOTD #14– Black cut crease smokey eye

IMG_3823IMG_3824IMG_3827IMG_3831IMG_3833

A little while ago, a girl posted about a picture on luxe about this look. She said that she can do smokey eyes and have tried to copy the look in the picture and she wasn’t able. That was kind of a challenge for me. I’m not used of copying looks from pictures but I think this one turned out to be very similar to the look in the picture. The look is pretty much a light skin colored shade on you lid and a dark black shade to contour your crease and outer V coming on the lid. So this is how I created it step by step:

1. I applied a shade a little bit lighter than my skin tone to all my lid up to my eyebrow.

2. I applied the black shadow where I wanted it using a small angled brush E65 (Mac 266) I would usually use to put on eyeliner. Don’t worry about blending at this point we’re going to come back later for blending.

3. I used my Sigma E30 pencil brush (Mac 219) to darken the crease and outer V and start to blend a little bit the black out.

4. Being careful not to go in to much, I started blending with my Sigma E40 tapered blending brush (Mac 224) just at the edges of the black shadow. After this step, I reapplied the black eye shadow to add the intensity I lost. You can repeat these two steps as much time as you need to get the desired intensity of the look.

5. To blend out the outer higher edges of the black shadow, I used a brown a little bit darker than my skin tone to act as a transition color. I blended it in the black with a Sigma’s E25 which is a smaller blending brush (Mac 217)

5. I reapplied the lighter shade all over my lid and under my brow where there could have some fallouts.

6. I then lined my eyes with the black shadow with the same angled brush I used earlier.

7. I applied black eyeliner to my waterline and added two coats of mascara and the look was done.

So, that’s the look… It ended looking really similar to the picture that I saw on luuux. I hope you liked it (:

Nyx Round lipstick in Milan - Review

IMG_3974IMG_3971

This color I find looks lighter in the picture than it actually looks in person. This is a very unusual color. It kind of has a little hint of purple in it when you see it in the tube and on the back of my hand but, on your lips, the purple doesn’t come off as strong. Maybe it would be really pretty to wear with a purple look to see how the purple tint would look like. I think that would be something fun to do and if I do it, I will post the results.

Ok, so this was the last review of my Nyx round lipsticks. I really like these lipsticks and I’m really looking forward to try some other colors. The only thing that I don’t like about Nyx is that when you order online, the swatches doesn’t reflect the real color of the products. But overall, I still recommend them.

Coming soon are going to be the reviews about other Nyx products that I got in my last haul.

Hope you liked the more in depth review of each shades and the swatches and I hope it will help you make a selection of color if you buy these lipsticks on the internet.

Nyx Round lipstick in Circe - Review

IMG_3950IMG_3948

This is another separate shade review and swatch of my Nyx Round lipsticks. This shade is called Circe. It’s a really pretty  nude color. This is more of a beige nude. Usually, I go for more pinky nudes  but I wanted to try something different because I already have too much similar pinky nudes. This color is really pretty if you want a beige nude but, what I like to do with this lipstick is wear a pink lipgloss over it and it adds just the perfect  touch of pink. My favorite pink to add on top of Circe is presently Nyx Megashine  lipstick in Pink Gold (I think that’s the name!).

To finish, I didn’t really think I would like this lipstick because I don’t like beige colors really but this lipstick ended being one of my favorite lipsticks in the lipsticks I purchased from Nyx. I would recommend it to anyone who have a skin tone close to mine.

Nyx Round lipstick in Hebe - Review

IMG_3944IMG_3941

This is a review on Nyx Round lipstick in a shade called Hebe. It’s a gorgeous red lipstick with gold shimmers. This is more of a darker red lipstick. I find that it makes it a little bit more wearable than a bright red lipstick. The only thing I don’t like about darker lipstick colors is that it’s harder to apply and that I need to watch out so I don’t get lipstick on me teeth. I’m not someone that’s used to wear red lipstick. Usually, I go for nudes, and pinks but, when I ordered my Nyx order, a little while ago, I wanted to try brighter colors and get out of my comfort zone. I decided to do that because for 1.99$, I had nothing to loose if I didn’t like the color. I don’t really know when I’m going to wear this lipstick, but it’s a really pretty color and I’m happy to have it in my collection even if it’s not a color that I will wear often.

Nyx Round lipstick in Indian Pink - Review

This is a review on the shade Indian Pink. This is one of my favourite shades in the shades I own from Nyx. It’s a really pretty coral-pink color. I really like how it looks on my lips and this is for me my natural lips but better color. I like that it’s not as bright as Margarita and it’s a lot more wearable. I find that this color even if it’s really pretty for the summer could also be worn in the winter because it’s not too bright as Margarita.

Nyx round lipstick in Mars - Review

This lipstick was part of my recent Nyx haul from Cherryculture. This is the round lipstick in the color Mars. It retails for 1.99$ on this website. This is going to be my review on this lipstick.

This is a brownish nude color. It’s definitely not a nude that erases my lips. It’s more of a my lip color but better shade. This is not a color I usually gravitate toward but I find it would be perfect for a working woman at work. It’s a color that looks very professional for me.

This lipstick is very creamy as all round lipsticks are. Sometimes, I find that creamy lipsticks tend to sink into the fine lines of my lips but, this one doesn’t do it so that’s a big plus.

Another thing that I like about this lipstick is the packaging. I like that it’s not too big and the cover nicely snaps into place and I’m not scared that it will pop open if I carry it around me.

Overall, this is not my favourite shade but I would really recommend it to any professional working woman as it is a color that really fits for that.

Nyx Round lipstick in Margarita - Review

IMG_3923

This is Nyx Round lipstick in the color Margarita. It retails for 1.99$ at Cherryculture.com. I recently bought this lipstick which I showed in my recent haul from Cherryculture. All lipsticks have a really nice texture and really nice finishes and are very creamy so I’m not going to get to much in the details. This is more to review the shade than the lipstick.

This is a very pretty lipstick. It’s a lot brighter than it actually shows in the pictures. The color is really bright. It’s a very nice kind of corally color that really pops. I’ve never seen anything close to it. It’s a very unique color. The color is a frost so it has some shimmers which usually are not my favourite but in this lipstick and all Nyx lipsticks they don’t bother me because they are really fine and you can’t really feel them on you lips. Also, I really like the way they show up.

I really like this color and I find it’s a very appropriate color for the summer. I think this is perfect for this summer and it’s really trendy because as you know, corals are really trendy this summer as bold and bright colors are. Also, I find that even if it’s a bright color, it’s a little bit more wearable for me than a bright fuchsia color at least on my skin tone.

EOTD #13 - Sephora Candy Colored inspired eye

This is a look I created inspired by a Sephora add that came out a long time ago. If you want to see the original picture, you can go google "Sephora Candy eye" and you are going to find the picture that inspired this look. I really like this look as a colorful look. When I first saw this picture, I wasn't a lot into makeup but that totally changed since then and that's why I decided to recreate this look because I really liked it then.

These are the products used :
- Urban Decay Primer Potion
- Sephora eyeshadow in aspen summit (shimmery white shadow)
- Kat Von D palette in True love (the lightest purple shadow)
- Art Deco eyeshadow in 391 (blue)
- Smashbox Classifeyed palette (matte brow highlight)
- L'Oréal liquid eyeliner
- Revlon Grow luscious mascara

So this is how it ended looking. I hope you liked it.

NOTM #1 - July

So this is what my nails are looking like this month. I got them done at the beginning of the month. The person who did my nails had to mix the colors to get the color I wanted. I wanted the tip Coral but it turned out more orange looking. I guess it makes Halloween nails before the time! Still, I received a lot of compliments about my nails since I got them and what I really like about them is that they're kind of different from the usual french manicure I usually get done.
