EOTD - Purple party look

Hey Bloggers,

Sorry if I wasn’t able to post for a long time. I was so busy at my school, work and much more… So, this weekend was my staff party and I had the chance to dress up a little bit. So, what I decided to do was a nice purple eye with subtle glitters paired with peachy-pink blush and nude lips. So, this is the look I created for the party and I think it’s bright, fun to wear but is still really flattering.

1. I applied Urban Decay Primer potion to my lid to prime my eyes.

2. Using a short dense shader brush (Sigma E55), I applied the shade Babe from Kat Von D’s True love palette on the inner two thirds of my lids.

3. Using the other side of the same brush, I applied Shiba from the same palette which is just a little bit darker on the outer third part of my lid.

4. Then, to blend out the colors, I used a flat blending brush similar to Mac 217 (Sephora #29) to apply Mac’s Vibrant Grape eyeshadow in my crease to soften the look and blend out any harsh lines.

5. I then, used a small pencil brush (Sigma E30) to apply Mac Fig 1 eyeshadow to the outer corner of my eyes creating a slightly triangular outer corner almost following the natural shape if my eyes.

6. Switching to a small angled liner brush (Sigma E65) I lined my bottom lash line with the same eyeshadow.

7. After that this step is optional, but I went back to brighten the two first lid colors I used to really make the look pop. Also, to make my inner tear duct pop, I applied Missy from the Kat Von D palette which is a white color with Blue/Purple shimmers.

8. Then, I really like glitters and shimmers so I added a liquid glitter liner from Lise Watier in the Purple color. (You may have to layer this product to get a really intense shimmer)

9. Next, I lined my eyes using two different products. I dipped my Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Zero in my Maybelline gel liner in black to get a super intense black line.

10. Last step, add mascara and if you want even false lashes to finish the look. (I don’t really wear false lashes so I didn’t)

So, that was the look. I hope you liked it and it was really fun to wear and I really liked to use these colors because I think I don’t use them often enough.

Bye,

Mac Fig 1 eyeshadow - Review

Hey Bloggers,

Today’s review is on this matte eyeshadow from Mac named Fig 1. It a really nice dark purple color perfect for the crease or outer corner because it is dark and matte. So, there’s my review about it.

So, it’s a really nice matte color. I was really happy to get this because I was looking for a nice darker matte purple for a long time because most of the purple shades I own are shimmery. The pigmentation of this eyeshadow is really nice and I like how it is quite easy to blend. I know that purples look really nice on almost any eye color but I really like this shade for my green eyes because I think it really makes them pop and it’s just the perfect shade that doesn’t make you look tired as some purple can do.

So, I really recommend this shade because it’s really pretty and I like that I don’t have anything like it.

Mac Lip Glass in Nymphette - Review

Hey Bloggers,

Today’s review is on a Lip glass from Mac. This is the first lipglass that I have. The only other lip-gloss that I have from Mac is a cremesheen and I really like it.

- The color is really pretty. I really like the nice pale pink color with golden shimmers. I understand now why I heard peoples talk about it on YouTube. It is actually one of my favourite color because it’s just so pretty.

- The formulation is really thick and sticky. I’ve heard these adjectives to qualify Mac lip glasses before so it was not really a surprise but I definitely prefer the formulation of the cremesheens which are really less sticky and super creamy.

Overall, I still really like the color. The stickiness is something I can deal with because the color is so pretty but I’m not sure for the price that I’m going to buy some more colors of these lip glasses because there’s a lot of cheaper lip-glosses that I prefer.

Mac Zoom Fast Black Lash mascara - Review

Hey Bloggers,

Today’s review is about a Mascara that I got from Mac. It is the Zoom fast black lash mascara. It’s the first mascara from Mac that I buy. Usually I buy drugstore mascara’s because the many high-end mascaras that I’ve tried disappointed me and were just not as good as the ones I tried from the drugstore. So, I didn’t have really high hopes for this mascara because I had already heard so many comments about Mac mascaras not being that great at all. But, these are my thoughts on this mascara in my opinion.

- The formulation is on wet but not too much. It is exactly like I like my mascaras to be. I usually prefer a slightly more wet formulation because I find it is easier to get the product on my lashes.

- The brush is really small compared to the past mascaras that I’ve used. But, surprisingly, it applies the mascara beautifully and I really like how it gives me perfect defined lashes. You know, that look when you see models in adds with amazing falsies where every lashes has the same distance between them and everything is so perfect? That’s the look I get with this mascara. Some peoples even think that I wear false lashes.

- So, I’ve used this mascara for a little over a week now everyday and I still really like it. The only thing I will have to see is how fast it will dry. Sometimes, there are amazing mascara’s out there at first when you open them but it dries up after about two weeks. I hope this one is not like that because I really like it.

So, overall, I really like this mascara. I would recommend it to everyone. Honestly, it’s really hard for me to choose a favourite mascara but I think this one if it’s not my favourite, it’s definitely one of my favourite mascaras of all time and this is a big thing because I’ve tried many many mascaras ever since I started putting on makeup, never buying the same twice.

Mac Mercurial Mineralized eyeshadow - Review

IMG_4647

Hey Bloggers,

This is a review on Mac’s Mercurial Mineralized eyeshadow. It’s the first time I try some Mac mineralized eyeshadows. I received it at my birthday in a set from Mac that had this eyeshadow, Nymphette lipglass, Zoom Lash mascara, Well dressed blush and Pretty baby beauty powder. I really like that set and I find it is an amazing value for the price. Unfortunately, it was limited edition but you can get most products separately or you can try to search in your local CCO because that’s where I got it

- This eyeshadow really is a surprise. You see all these pretty shades in it like pink, burgundy, purple, lavender and gold. I was really curious to see how the color would turn out. When all mixed together, it turns out a nice beige champagne color. The color is really not intense. It just adds a nice touch of shimmers to your lid.

- I really like the shade and I think it’s kind of cool how the color turns out but I think the product is way more pretty in the pan than the color all mixed together. I would really have liked to see the purple of the color a little bit more because on your lid, nobody can tell that there is some purple there.

Anyway, beside that it’s still a good product and I will for sure find many different combinations to use it with. The only thing is that I don’t really think it’s that unique and I think it’s not a must have color especially at the price it is.

Mac peachykeen blush - Review

IMG_4634

Hey Bloggers,

So this is going to be my review on Mac’s peachykeen blush. I got this blush for my birthday but I had chosen the shade because I read on a blog that it looked really pretty on fair skin. So I thought it would be a nice choice.

- The color is a really nice peachy pink color with golden shimmers. It is really similar to Nars orgasm. The only thing I would say that’s slightly different is that the Orgasm one has a little bit more golden shimmer while peachykeen is a little bit more subtle.

- I really like the pigmentation of this blush. It has the same good quality that almost every blush I tried from Mac has.

- The finish is a sheertone shimmery blush which I really like. I like pigmented blushes and this one is good for me so don’t be scared of the sheertone finish.

Overall, I really recommend this blush and I think it looks really well on my skin and it’s a good blush to have in my collection.

Hope you have a nice day!

Kat Von D True Romance eye shadow palette in Saint - Review

Hey Bloggers,

Today I have a review on a palette from Kat Von D. It’s a really nice neutral palette and it is the True Romance palette in Saint. Top has different swatches in different lighting. I find that the second swatches are more similar to what the colors look like in real life. So there’s my review:

- I already have a Kat Von D palette and I really like it. I love the amazing quality of the eye shadows and you don’t get a lot of fallouts considering how shimmery they are. My expectations were really high for this palette and it didn’t fail me. I really like that there’s no color that I wouldn’t wear. Pretty much every color, anyone could wear it everyday and they all have the same quality that Kat Von D’s eye shadows usually have.

- On thing I really like about this palette is that they didn’t include a cream color as in the other palettes. I found that that color didn’t stay well on my lids and dried really fast to a point I was not able to use it after maybe a month. So, it was pretty much lost money and space and I’m happy they didn’t include it in this palette.

- Also, most if not every Kat Von D palettes has Lucifer which is a matte black eye shadow. I understand that black is a really basic color and the quality of it is really good but when you buy more than one palette, you end up having multiple matte black eye shadows that you will never be able to use. At least for me!

To finish, all the colors are really pretty and I like every single one of them. I think it’s a really good buy especially for the price and I would recommend it to any of you who wants a neutral eye shadow palette. The only wish or recommendation I would have would be to include a matte highlight color as all the colors in the palette are too shimmery at least in my taste for brow highlight.

EOTD - Egyptian queen Halloween makeup tutorial

IMG_4731IMG_4736

Hey Bloggers,

So at school our day to get dressed was yesterday so I decided to be Cleopratra/Egyptian Queen. I really like how I was able to play with the makeup and wear something more exotic and dramatic than what I would usually wear. What makes this look so dramatic really is the liner so, maybe you could turn this Halloween look into an everyday look by putting on less liner.

There are the steps to achieve this look:

1. I primed my eyelids with Urban Decay primer potion as usually.

2. I applied Mac Amber Lights eyeshadow all over my lid.

3. In my crease, I used the darker matte color from my Kat Von D palette in Saint.

4. As a highlight, I applied Urban Decay Virgin from the Naked palette to my brow bone and my tear duct.

5. Then it’s the step to make the look come alive. I used my l’Oréal carbon black liquid liner to line my eyes with a thick line and than created a really dramatic wing. I did a straight wing while usually I would go for a wing that’s more oriented to my brows. After that, I used a gel liner from Maybelline to line around my inner corners and to line my bottom lashline. At the inner corners, I did a little flicked the liner down a little bit past my tearduct.

6. I lined my waterline with Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in Zero.

7. I applied one coat of my current favourite mascara Mac Zoom Fast Black Lash mascara.

8. After that, I applied false lashes. I usually don’t wear false lashes because I already have really long lashes but I felt that with the really thick liner I did, it almost made my lashes disappear and anyway at Halloween we all like a little bit more drama!

9. For this look, I wore a wig because I don’t think Cleopatra was blond! So, to match the wig a little bit more, I used Urban Decay’s Buck eyeshadow to fill in my brows.

So that’s it that was the look. I hope you liked it.

Mac Amber lights eyeshadow - Review

Hey Bloggers,

So, this summer, when I was in Maine, I went to a Mac store. I really don’t go often to a Mac store because there’s none close to where I live. This summer, I went there and bought 4 eyeshadows plus the ones I bought at CCO. There’s one eyeshadow that caught my eye and I really regretted not buying. It was Amber lights. The finish is a frost and the pigmentation is really good. The only thing I have to mention as I said yesterday is that it’s really similar to woodwinked so you don’t need both. I ordered this eyeshadow looking on the website and reviews and I wish I would have bought another color to have more variety in my Mac collection that is slowly growing.

Ok, so my birthday was this week and I got a lot of makeup so make sure to look out for a new haul on this blog coming soon with Mac, Sephora and drugstore makeup. Plus I’m probably going to post an Halloween tutorial on Cleopatra makeup by the end of the week because our costume day at school is on thursday.

Thanks…

Mac Woodwinked eyeshadow - Review

Hey Bloggers,

This is my review on Mac Woodwinked eyeshadow. Woodwink is a Veluxe pearl finish eyeshadow. I really like the texture and the pigmentation of this eyeshadow. This is a nice Gold color and is perfect either for all over the lid or as a light crease color if you don’t mind the shimmers. The quality is amazing, the only thing as with all the other Mac eyeshadows is the price. Also, it is really similar to Amber lights so you don’t really need to have both so if you already have Amber lights, you might not need this one.

Thanks

Mac Rubenesque paint pot–Review/comparison to Urban Decay Primer Potion

IMG_4597IMG_4602

Hi Bloggers,

This is a review on Mac’s Rubenesque paintpot. This is the first paintpot that I try. Usually all cream eyeshadows crease on me but I decided to give it a try because I heard so many good reviews about it. I know that it’s not a primer but I’m going to compare it to my all time favorite primer: Urban Decay Primer Potion.

This paintpot is in a really pretty color. It’s a nice peachy golden shade. It looks nice under a lot of neutral eyeshadows and adds just the perfect touch of shimmers. That’s a big plus compared to the Urban Decay Primer Potion because you can get some really pretty colors and have a lot more choice.

But, the Urban Decay Primer Potions lasts longer. The paint pot starts to crease after about 12 hours of wearing it on me which is really good but still not as good as UD. The UD one can last on me 15hours+ and will never crease on me! But, I still wear the paint pot because most normal days, having your makeup on for 12 hours is good enough.

How it applies. In term of ease of application, I have to give the point to Urban Decay because you can just use it with your fingers. (With the Mac paintpot, I’m too scared to infect the product :) ) Also, the UDPP is much more liquid so it’s a lot smoother and silkier when applied on you lids.

The finish of the paintpot is kind of a cream to powder. It’s a cream but when it sets, it looks like it’s some kind of powder eyeshadow while the UDPP keeps it’s wet look if that make sense.

So, both are really good bases/primers. I really recommend both. I recommend Mac if you want pretty shades that make you eyeshadows pop and Urban Decay if you really need theses few more hours of wear.

Lise Watier Lip Kiss Crayon Gloss in Pink Jelly - Review

Hey Bloggers,

This is my review on another shade of these lip crayons. This is a very nice pink color. I really like this color for a night out because it is a little bit brighter without being too much. Same as the red one I reviewed yesterday, if you want to color you see in the packaging, you’ll need to have a lighter base or lipstick underneath. Except for that, I really like theses crayons and the finish of them.

Lise Watier Lip kiss crayon gloss - Review

Hey Bloggers,

This is just the perfect natural red lips. It’s from Lise Watier. It’s a nice red color called Mango Punch. I think this color is just perfect because it is a red lips but a kind of more subtle one. I don’t usually wear crazy bright lipstick but this is just perfect if I want to try something brighter without going too over the top. This lip crayon really glides well on your lips and it is a nice combination of a lipstick and a gloss. The only thing is that if you have pigmented lips, you might want to use a paler base underneath if you really want the true color to show.

Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick in Twinkled pink - Review

IMG_4541IMG_4542

Hey Bloggers,

This is a short review on a shade from Revlon named Twinkled pink. It is a really nice pink color and I feel that it is just perfect. Not too dark or too light. The color is really pretty and it’s a really good lipstick. I really like the color selection Revlon has. The only thing is that I always buy the same colors! In my collection, pretty much all my lipsticks are that kind of pink shade. I think I need to learn how to get something different next time! But, if you’re looking for that kind of pink color, it is a really good choice and I would recommend it.

Revlon Super lustrous lipstick in–Silver City Pink - Review

IMG_4532

IMG_4535

Hey Bloggers,

This is a review on Revlon’s lipstick. I got this lipstick about a week ago. I got it because I really wanted to try Revlon’s lipsticks and they were on sale for 3.99$ at the drugstore(they are 8.99$ usually). So, I thought this was my chance to try theses lipsticks for a very good price.

First, this lipstick has a pearl finish. The color is a light frosty pink. It is a little bit lighter than my natural lip color but I find these kind of pale pink colors suit my skin tone perfectly.

The formulation is really nice. It feels nice on your lips, doesn’t overly sink into the fine lines of your lips and wears nicely.

I think Revlon’s lipsticks are really good. I kind of regret not buying more even if I know I don’t need any more lipsticks because I already have too much! But, I would still really like to try any finish of Revlon’s lipsticks because both colors I got are pearl and I would like to try their matte lipsticks as well. Do I recommend Revlon’s lipsticks? Yes. They have good lipsticks and I think the variety of shades is just amazing so anyone can find their perfect shades.
